Saturday, November 10, 2001 I just can't seem to get ol' Festus Joe to understand that them space aliens ain't gonna take him up in that there space ship if he stays up all night lookin for 'em! I don't think Festus got hisself eight hour a sleep all week. He's all the time wakin up every time he thinks he hears that space ship. Then he gets hisself all worked up and can't get back to sleep agin. I keep telllin him, Festus Joe, I say, them space aliens ain't gonna take you as a specimin if you is awake. He says, I know Bertha Mae, I know. But what does he do? Shoots right up out that bed every time he hears the space ship! And let me tell y'all somethin. Festus Joe with no sleep is one ornery critter. Even if them space aliens did take people who was awake I don't reckon they'd be takin ol' Festus cuz he's just too dang burn ornery! Thank heavens he's down to the army navy store with Bubba J today. I'm hopin that'll take his mind offa them space aliens.
