Monday, November 05, 2001 That Vicky down to the diner is one mighty fine waitress. She's always makin sure we gots plenty o' coffee and she makes sure them cooks is doin their jobs right. On Sundy we done ate chicken fried steak, taters, eggs and biskits and gravy. Ain't many things in life better'n that! While we was there Vicky was tellin us how she was businer than a bare-foot boy on a red ant hill. She done told us, too, that she done made $140 in tips! I ain't too good at math, but I think that's purt'near what our check from the welfare is. Vicky done told us three or four times that today's her day off. That sounds like an invitation to me.
